The Performance Studio, New Quebec Street

Ilona Sagar undertook a residency at The Performance Studio at New Quebec Street during summer 2014.

During the residency, Sagar presented work as part of What’s Love Got to Do with It at Hayward Gallery Project Space. The exhibition included a film by Sagar, followed by a live performance on 9 August 2014.

Sagar’s residency formed part of The Performance Studio’s programme of providing artists with time and space to research, experiment and develop performance based work.

ABOUT ILONA SAGAR

Ilona Sagar is an artist whose work spans moving image, sound, performance and text. Her practice explores the relationships between the body, architecture and social space, often drawing on histories of health, care and the built environment.

Her work combines archival research with performance and moving image, examining how bodies are shaped by the spaces, systems and structures they inhabit.
